In spite of the challenging circumstances, faculty and students hosted a successful "Girls and Boys Club contest," complete with a County Farmer's Institute picnic dinner, baking contests, and contest winner prizes. Judges considered corn, cotton, and other farm products grown by the boys and cakes, bread, and canned fruits and vegetables produced by the girls. [1]
