Utility Bill Payment Options

 

 Online Payment Option

 

The City of Lawton is pleased to announce a new payment option for our customers! You will now be able to pay your City of Lawton utility service bill online using your Visa or MasterCard debit or credit card, Discover credit card, or an e-check! This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is provided by Paymentus Corporation, a third party automated payment system.


You may also pay by phone using their toll free number: 1-877-565-3795.

Paymentus charges a service fee per transaction, which is currently $3.25 for each transaction up to $300. The City of Lawton does not receive any revenue from this fee.

Please log into the customer dashboard for additional account information. Failure to pay an outstanding past due balance within 20 days of the payment due date will result in disconnection of service.

Auto Draft:

You can have your payment deducted directly from your checking account by stopping by our offices and filling out this direct deposit draft form

[BANKDRAFT FORM]. Once the form is complete, please submit the information in person or by mail, along with a voided check.

Pay in Person:

Payments can be made in person by coming into our office, located inside the New City Hall at 212 SW 9th Street. Our hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and we are open through the lunch hour!

Please Note: If your account is subject to disconnect, or has been disconnected for non-payment, you will need to come in to our office to make your payment in person. No online payments will be accepted for discontinued or disconnected services. Additional reconnection fees may apply if your service has been disconnected. If you need to make a payment arrangement prior to disconnection, please contact one of our service representatives at

+ How do I make my payment online?

- Click on the Paymentus logo above. You will need to have the following information available to complete the transaction:

* Your 8 digit account number found in the upper right hand corner of your monthly bill.

* Your customer number found below your account number on your monthly bill.

* Your credit or debit card number with the security code from the back of the card.


* A valid email address (required to complete your transaction) for payment confirmation.


+ How do I make a payment using the automated telephone system?

- To pay by phone, you can simply dial the toll free number (1-877-565-3795) at any time, from any phone. You will need the following information to complete your transaction by phone:

* Your 8 digit account number found in the upper right hand corner of your monthly bill.

* Your customer number found below your account number on your monthly bill.

* Your credit or debit card number with the security code from the back of the card.


+ Can I pay my deposit online or by phone?

- Deposits for new service or transfer of service must be paid in person by cash, check, or money order at our office. In the event that your service is disconnected, you may be able to pay your deposit update online or by phone if it is required. To determine if a deposit update is needed, and the amount, please call our office at 581-3308. Please note that a deposit update is considered a separate transaction and will incur a separate service fee.

+ How long will it take before my payment is posted to my account?

- If payment is made by 7 pm CST (Central Standard Time), Monday through Thursday, it will be posted to your account the following business day. Payments made on Fridays, weekends, or holidays will be posted on the next normal business day.

+ Can I pay online if Iím scheduled for disconnection within the next 48 hours?

- If your account is scheduled for disconnect, you will need to make your payment immediately in person at the water department inside the New City Hall (212 SW 9th St). Paying online or by phone when you are scheduled for disconnect will not guarantee your service will not be interrupted.

+ Why is there a service fee, and how is the amount determined?

- Paymentus Corporation charges a fee to use their service. The fee covers their handling and processing charges. Each individual transaction will be charged a service fee, whether it is made online, or over the automated telephone line. Currently, this fee is $3.25 for each $300 payment amount. For example, if your payment amount is $350, the service fee will be $3.25 for the first $300. You will need to do an additional transaction for the remaining $50, which will incur another $3.25 charge. The total fee charged for these two payments would be $6.50. You will be provided the option to continue or cancel the transaction prior to making payment, should you decide not to pay the service fee. The City of Lawton does not receive any revenue from this fee.

+ What if I change my mind when paying online, and would rather pay in person?

- You will be given an option to cancel your transaction and may do so at any time. However, please note that payment in person can only be done with cash, check or money order. We currently do not accept debit or credit cards at our local office.
