This is an academic based program. Five classes for children in grades 3-6 meet Saturday, 9am – noon at the Old Town Hall/Carnegie Library, 5th & B Ave., downtown Lawton. Students are introduced to art vocabulary, color theory, and work on projects using various media. In addition, they learn how to care/clean art supplies and art exhibit etiquette.  Then they will then have their very own, “Young Artist Exhibit with reception” in the lobby of McMahon Memorial Auditorium.

Cost to attend is $50 and students who qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program may qualify for scholarship. Note that scholarships are available on first come/first served basis.  Attendance to all five classes is needed to complete training and projects. For more information on attendance and other questions, call Arts & Humanities Div at 580-581-3470/3471.

2011-2012 Program Sponsors: Oklahoma Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, City of Lawton, Lawton Arts & Humanities Council, Lawton Public Schools, and the McMahon Auditorium Authority.
