Provides a variety of skilled and technical work in the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of all electrical and mechanical equipment associated with the Water Treatment Plant and its related facilities. Work involves routine maintenance, inspection and repair of equipment, machinery and related apparatus at the treatment plant, pump stations and reservoirs. Mechanics make inspections of equipment to determine both operating and mechanical condition.
Knowledge of electric, hydraulic, pneumatic motors and controls, and of proper methods of repair and maintenance. Knowledge of operating principles of pumps, control systems, and other equipment related to Water and Wastewater treatment facilities. Work involves maintenance, inspections and repair of equipment, machinery and related apparatus, at the treatment plant, pump stations and reservoirs. Inspects equipment to determine operating condition and needed repairs. Determines materials, supplies and equipment required for maintenance and repairs. Performs maintenance duties to include grounds keeping, carpentry, masonry and welding jobs as needed.
Requirement-Education & ExperiencePossession of a valid driver’s license. Possession of a Class “D” Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality Water certification or the ability to obtain one within one year of date of hire. Class “C” operator and Class “C” lab certifications are preferred.Graduation from an accredited high school, vocational school or possess a GED and six (6) years of increasingly responsible skilled maintenance or construction work, including three (3) years experience in the repair, maintenance and operation of electric motors, controls and mechanical equipment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
