Position Purpose
Operates a variety of light equipment utilized in construction, maintenance and repair activities; performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in maintenance of street, traffic control, storm drainage systems and property maintenance activities.
Job Duties/Knowledge
Operates various size trucks in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials and supplies. Operates sign repair and installation truck, walking paint stripers and a variety of powered hand tools. Assists in the construction, repair and maintenance of streets, ditches, storm drainage systems, street striping and traffic control in and around job sites, and general property maintenance. Occasionally performs crew chief duties in charge of small crews. Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles, tools and equipment. Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Occasionally operates medium equipment. Performs some or all of the duties of laborer. Serves as ground guide. Sprays herbicides. Controls traffic in and around job sites. May perform a variety of activities when on call requiring employee to make decisions to correct problems in after-hours situations.
Requirement-Education & Experience
Possession of a valid driver’s license. Class "B" Oklahoma Commercial driver’s license must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire with written test being passed within 30 days of date of hire. Due to Oklahoma State licensing requirements for this position, an original or certified true copy of your birth certificate or passport must be made available before a conditional offer for a job can be made.Graduation from an accredited high school, vocational school or possession of a GED equivalent. Four years experience working with light equipment and around medium and heavy equipment, two of which must have been related to street, traffic control and storm drainage systems.
