Location: Public Works Department / Wastewater Maintenance Division
Beginning Salary: $887.20 bi-weekly
Closing Date: 5 pm February 13, 2013
Performs routine clerical and administrative work in answering phones, receiving the public, providing citizen assistance, data processing and bookkeeping.
Skill in the operation of personal computer including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access software, copy and fax machines, base radio, 10-key calculator and telephone and two-way radio. Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public; communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to handle stressful situations. Ability to make arithmetic calculations and tabulations; ability to write legibly and to establish and maintain effective working relations with other employees and the general public. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and work independently. Receives the public and answers questions; responds to inquiries. Types various correspondence. Calculates and keeps records of billings and payments.
Requirement-Education & Experience
ust have valid typing and spelling scores taken in the Human Resources office and be less than one (1) year old. Tests may be taken on a walk in basis between the hours of 9:00 to 11:15 am and 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm. A picture ID is required. It is the applicant’s responsibility to submit test scores. Tests must be on file prior to closing date of position. Graduation from a standard high school, vocational school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing and bookkeeping/accounting and two (2) years of increasing responsible experience; or any equivalent combination of related education and experience. Possession of a valid Oklahoma Driver's License prior to date of hire.
