Job Title: POLICE OFFICER
Location: Police Department
Beginning Salary: $30,055 Annually

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have valid Oklahoma operator’s license with a good driving record. Must be able to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends and long hours as necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess a high school diploma or GED, be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and no older than forty-five (45) years of age at time of hire and be a citizen of the United States or an alien resident.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read, understand and interpret ordinances, laws and other operating procedures. Ability to deal effectively with the public using tact and diplomacy. Ability to make split-second decisions. Must also have the ability to locate places on map, receive radio instructions and provide directions. Must be skilled in firearm usage, hand to hand combat and other means of defense.
Patrols assigned areas of city; enforces state and federal laws, city ordinances and traffic laws, investigates crime scenes and traffic accidents. Makes arrests on criminal and traffic related offenses. Assists stranded motorists; speaks before citizens groups and participates in various service training.
