Provides a variety of complex, supervisory, administrative and technical work in the operation at the Water Treatment Plants including inspection of work projects at the plant and other facilities including various lagoons and the City of Lawton water reservoirs.
Knowledge of the materials, methods, techniques, tools, facilities, procedures and equipment used in plant operation and water treatment including knowledge of water reservoir management practices. Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and safety precautions necessary for the safe conduct of work and equipment operation. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to area of specialization. Ability to plan, layout work and supervise a group of subordinates and obtain effective results and meet established schedules. Ability to maintain required operating records and prepare reports. Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions and to work from sketches and plans. Directs, coordinates and reviews the operation of Water Treatment Plant and related facilities. Maintains records, review reports, determine resource needs and initiate requests for materials and supplies. Makes recommendations for new and improved methods of operation, policies and procedures. Inspects plant performance and analyzes laboratory reports to ensure proper treatment. Assigns work and insures completion of tasks. May occasionally fill the duties of the Plant Superintendent.
Requirement-Education & Experience
Graduation from an accredited, vocational school, high school or GED equivalent. Possession of or must obtain a class "B" Water Operator license and a class “C” Water Lab certification from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality within one (1) year of date of hire. Minimum three years experience in the field of water treatment or industrial operations and maintenance or any appropriate equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license. Due to Oklahoma State licensing requirements for this position, an original or certified true copy of your birth certificate must be made available before a conditional offer for a job can be made.
