Beginning Salary: $1,100.80 bi-weekly

Operates a variety of medium and heavy duty equipment and heavy trucks utilized in construction, maintenance, and repair activities of water distribution and wastewater collection; serves a regular lead person to monitor work flow, review and correct work, and direct work at job sites and visits with the public concerning complaints.
Skill in the operation of back hoes, front end loaders, motorized vehicles and equipment, including dump truck, pickup truck, utility truck, jet inductor trucks, man lifts, saws, pumps, generators, compressors and common hand and power tools to include survey and laser levels. Knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities of water lines and sewer lines. Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to work safely; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; ability to operate television equipment in main inspection. Ability to perform grade and elevation mathematical calculations. Performs labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe repair, laying and backfilling and operates a backhoe and track hoe in the digging of ditches. Supervises the installation and maintenance of sewer mains and lines for a 1 or 2 man crew.
Requirement-Education & Experience
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and three years prior experience related to construction, maintenance and repair of streets, water lines, sewer lines or refuse disposal; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license. Possession of or must obtain a Class "A" Oklahoma Commercial driver’s license by passing the written test within 30 days of date of hire and successfully completing the driving test prior to 6 months from date of hire. Possession of or the ability to obtain an ODEQ Class “D” Certification in Wastewater within one (1) year of date of hire. Due to Oklahoma State licensing requirements for this position, an original or certified true copy of your birth certificate or passport must be made available BEFORE a conditional offer for a job can be made.
