Position Purpose
To provide first line supervision of field crews. Prepares various reports, inspects completed projects, and visits with the public concerning complaints.
Job Duties/Knowledge
Knowledge of materials, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the areas of specialization. Ability to plan, layout work, supervise subordinates, obtain effective results and meet established schedules. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and work from knowledge of Oklahoma Plumbing Codes involving wastewater collection systems, sketches and plans. Plans, assigns, supervises and inspects the work of employees. Supervises the installation and maintenance of wastewater projects. Instructs and enforces City of Lawton and OSHA safety rules, polices and procedures. Keeps necessary records; makes required reports and cost estimates. Assists in the interviewing of candidates for hire. Evaluates performance of division employees. Responds to emergency situations. Answers questions and complaints from the public and higher level management.
Requirement-Education & Experience
Possession of a valid driver’s license. Possession of or must obtain an Oklahoma Class B CDL by passing the written test within 30 days and the driving test within 6 months of date of hire. Due to Oklahoma State licensing requirements for this position, an original or certified true copy of your birth certificate or passport must be made available BEFORE a conditional offer for a job can be made. Possession of a Class C certification in Wastewater or the ability to obtain one within one (1) year of date of hire. Willing to be available for night and weekend work. Graduation from a standard high school or GED equivalent or vocational school supplemented by special training in supervision.
