Beginning Salary: $952.80 bi-weekly

Status: Full-time Must be willing to work shifts.
The position is located in Technical Services Division of the Police Department and works under the supervision of the Police Records Manager. Major job function are the maintenance of records containing data on all subjects arrested, offense reports, accident reports and traffic violations. The position is categorized as a high risk employment.
Knowledge of principles and practices related to the operation of the Records Section of the Police Department. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing including knowledge of correct English language. Ability to accurately operate a personal computer, digital filing system, OLETS teletype system, typewriter and microfilm reader/printer. Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette and procedures; modern office practices, methods and computer equipment. Knowledge of principals and methods of record keeping as applied to the Police Department. Knowledge of basic civil and criminal statutes. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information assimilated and utilized during the course of the job. Analyzes and codes reports; enters data into an automated records management system. Retrieves and complies information from department databases, using a variety of retrieval procedures. Receives and physically searches female inmates in accordance with State of Oklahoma Jail standards and local policies and procedures. Assembles and distributes offenses, arrest reports and related documents for investigation and/or prosecution. Serves as a customer service representative for the Police Department. Prepares archival records of law enforcement documents on digital system and assists in maintaining original files, off site storage and compliance with records retention and destruction schedule.
Requirement-Education & Experience
Must have valid typing and spelling scores taken in the Human Resources office and be less than one (1) year old. Tests may be taken on a walk in basis between the hours of 9:00 to 11:15 am and 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm. A picture ID is required. It is the applicant’s responsibility to submit test scores. Tests must be on file prior to closing date of position. Graduation from an accredited high school, vocational school or possess a GED equivalent. Ability to obtain and retain certification as an “Operator” by the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications System within one year. Subject to police records check. Must be willing to work shifts.
