Beginning Salary: ($55,640.00 - $86,632.00 annually) DOQ

Performs complex and professional engineering work for environmental, water, sewer, street, storm drainage and other public works projects and programs ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria; serves as a Project Manager. Acts as Division Director for SSTD.
Serves as project engineer for sanitary sewer, water, storm drainage, street and other municipal public works projects; designs plans and writes specifications; writes project related agenda items for review by the City Council; reviews construction bids; recommends contract awards; reviews work to insure compliance with plans and specifications; reviews and approves contract pay estimates and change orders; recommends final acceptance of projects to the City Council. Maintains contact with consulting engineers, construction project engineers, City, County, State and Federal agencies, professional and technical groups and the general public regarding division activities and services. Insures compliance of plans with standards of engineering practice and applicable City, state, and federal regulations and requirements. Prepares DEQ permit applications for sanitary sewer projects; prepares required reports for loans/grants for OWRB/EPA and other agencies. Knowledge of civil engineering principles, materials, tools, equipment, underground technology, practices and methods as applicable to a municipal setting; knowledge of applicable City policies, laws, and regulations affecting division activities. Skill in operation of personal computer, word processing, spreadsheet, data base and computer-aided-design software; standard drafting tools; surveying equipment including level, theodolite and electronic distance measuring devices; motor vehicle; phone; mobile radio. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to conduct necessary engineering research and compile comprehensive reports.
Requirement-Education & Experience
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering or closely related field and a minimum of six (6) years professional civil engineering experience with municipal infrastructure improvements or closely related experience. Registration in Oklahoma as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain registration in Oklahoma by reciprocity within one year of employment. Possession of or the ability to obtain an appropriate valid Oklahoma driver’s license by date of hire.
