|BUILDING MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR One (1) position available|

Under general direction, plans, schedules, organizes, directs, and evaluates the work of skilled workers engaged in the construction, alteration, modification, maintenance, and repair of City owned buildings, structures, offices, and related facilities: and performs related duties as assigned.
Participates in the development and implementation of short and long term plans and specifications for projected projects. Knowledge of and ensures compliance of division activities to pertinent federal, state and local laws, regulations and codes applicable to areas of responsibility. Inspects the work of contractors to ensure compliance with City policies, guidelines, specification, standards and contract provisions. Inspects building and facilities for needed maintenance and repairs. Develops projects from blueprints, drawings, sketches or verbal instruction and maintains records of work performed. Responsible for City’s safety program for the division and educates assigned personnel on rules, regulations, codes, safe work habits and potential hazards presented by work environment. Ensures the performance of predictive and preventive maintenance programs and provides technical assistance to staff. Confers with City staff regarding work orders and service requests. Responds to complaints or inquiries and takes necessary action. Knowledge of methods, practices, techniques, tools and materials used in the building trades, including carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. Knowledge of principles and practices of budgeting/purchasing; City personnel policies; principles and practices of sound business communications.. Computer software applications related to the work.
Requirement-Education & Experience
Graduation from high school with diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by training in building technology, maintenance management, business management or a closely related field, and three (3) years of journey-level experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience with experience substituted for education on a one-to-one basis. Possession of a valid a driver’s license.
