Location: Public Works Department / Wastewater Treatment Plant
Beginning Salary: $1,596.00 bi-weekly
Closing Date: 5 pm January 18, 2013
To provide supervision activities at the Wastewater Treatment Plants. Monitors workflow, reviews and corrects work; and directs work at the job site. Prepares various reports, inspects completed projects and visits with the public concerning operation of the plants.
Knowledge of materials, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the area of specialization. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to area of specialization. Ability to plan, layout work and supervise a group of subordinates and obtain effective results and meet established schedules. Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and to work from sketches and plans. Maintain records, review reports, determine resource needs and initiate requests for materials and supplies. Make recommendations for new and improved methods of operation, policies and procedures. Coordinates improvement programs and projects. Inspects plant performance and analyze laboratory reports to ensure proper treatment. Assigns work and insures completion of tasks. Frequently operates heavy equipment. May occasionally fill the duties of the Plant Superintendent.
Requirement-Education & Experience
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent and four years experience in the field of wastewater treatment; or any equivalent combination or education and experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license and a Class A Oklahoma Commercial driver’s license or must pass the written test within 30 days and successfully complete the driving test prior to six months from date of hire. Possession of or the ability to obtain, upon eligibility, a Class B Wastewater Certification as issued by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental quality and the ability to obtain a Class C Wastewater Laboratory certification within one year of date of hire.
