LAWTON CITY COUNCIL
MAY 29, 2003 - 5:00 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Powell.  Notice of meeting and agenda were posted on the City Hall notice board as required by law.

Glenn Devine, Ward Three
                    Amy Ewing-Holmstrom, Ward Four
        Stanley Haywood, Ward Seven
        Randy Warren, Ward Eight

ABSENT:    Robert Shanklin, Ward Five
        Jeffrey Patton, Ward Six
*Bass entered at approximately 5:02 p.m.
BUSINESS ITEMS:

1.    Pursuant to Section 307B.1, Title 25, Oklahoma Statutes, consider convening in executive session to discuss the appointment to the position of City Clerk, and, in open session, take appropriate action as necessary. Exhibits: None.

MOVED by Warren, SECOND by Haywood, to convene in executive session as shown on the agenda and recommended by the legal staff. AYE: Hanna, Devine, Ewing-Holmstrom, Haywood, Warren. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED.

The Mayor and Council convened in executive session at approximately 5:02 p.m. and reconvened in special, open session at approximately 6:23 p.m. Roll call was taken as follows: Bass, Devine, Ewing-Holmstrom, Haywood, Warren.  Absent: Hanna, Shanklin, Patton.

The Mayor apologized to those in the audience for the lack of attendance and asked that actions not be considered due to the absence of several members.  He asked for a motion to adjourn.

MOVED by Haywood, SECOND by Devine, to adjourn. AYE: Haywood, Warren, Bass, Devine. NAY: Ewing-Holmstrom. MOTION CARRIED.  Meeting adjourned at approximately 6:25 p.m.

2.    Continue discussions on the FY 2003-2004 Preliminary Budget for the City of Lawton, with discussion to center on expenditures. Exhibits: None.
