LAWTON CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 6, 2000 - 6:00 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Powell. Notice of meeting and agenda
were posted on the City Hall notice board as required by State Law.

BUSINESS ITEMS:
1. Consider awarding the concession operators contract for McMahon Park to Teen
Challenge
of Oklahoma. Exhibits: New Contract for McMahon Park Concession.
Gary Salva, Parks & Recreation Director, explained the efforts to locate a concession operator to
allow patrons to receive concession stand services while attending athletic events. He
recommended award of a contract to Teen Challenge, the sole bidder and a non-profit
organization, which will pay $700, or $100 per month, to run the concession for the remainder of
the sports season. Options to renew are also provided for in the contract.
MOVED by Shanklin, SECOND by Smith, to award the contract to Teen Challenge. AYE:
Hanna, Devine, Purcell, Shanklin, Moeller, Haywood, Baxter, Smith. NAY: None. MOTION
CARRIED.
There being no further business to consider, the meeting adjourned at 6:04 p.m. upon motion,
second and roll call vote.
