The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. with Invocation by Pastor Bob John, St.
Pauls
United Methodist Church, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Notice of meeting and agenda
were posted on the City Hall notice board in accordance with State law.

Randy Warren, Ward Eight
ABSENT: None.
COMMENTS - CURRENT ADMINISTRATION
Council Members and Mayor Marley expressed appreciation for service of fellow members.
Maples gave departing comments, recognizing each Council Member, the Mayor, City Manager
and City Attorney. Mayor Marley said he had enjoyed serving and would participate in volunteer
roles with the Chamber of Commerce and United Way.
DECLARE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION TO CEASE - MAYOR MARLEY
Mayor Marley declared the current administration to cease and asked Judge Ken Harris
to come
forward to administer the Oath of Office to new members.
ADMINISTRATION OF CONSTITUTIONAL AND STATUTORY OATHS OF OFFICE -
MUNICIPAL JUDGE KEN HARRIS
Judge Harris administered the Constitutional Oath of Office to Cecil Powell, G. Wayne
Smith
and Richard Williams, as well as executing the Statutory Oath.
DECLARE NEW ADMINISTRATION TO BEGIN - MAYOR POWELL
Mayor Powell declared the New Administration to begin.

COMMENTS - NEW ADMINISTRATION
Members welcomed Mayor Powell and Ward One Council Member G. Wayne Smith and
expressed a desire to have a productive and amicable working relationship. Smith and Powell
expressed their desire to work with other members to the benefit of the City.
Powell reminded members of a Special Council meeting May 5 at 5:30 p.m.
There was no further business and the meeting adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
