LAWTON CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
MAY 7, 1996 - 5:30 P.M.
COUNCIL CHAMBER - WAYNE GILLEY CITY HALL

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Marley.
Notice of meeting and agenda were posted on the City Hall
bulletin board as required by law.

Williams entered at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Elected John Purcell as Mayor Pro Tem.
BUSINESS ITEMS:
1. Rescinded the previous Council action and accepted the
change order to Kent Waller Construction in the amount of $90,860
for the Museum of the Great Plains Addition Project 95-1 to
replace the existing museum roof.
2. Ratified granting of a temporary landing facility permit to
the Noon Lions Club.
3. Approved Consolidated One-Year Action Plan for FY 1996 with
the modification to do away with the drug/substance abuse
treatment column and increase the Northside Chamber to $62,500.
4. Considered approval of a loan to Willie Jackson, DBA J's
Recycling Service, from the Community Block Grant Revolving Loan
Fund - Tabled to July 9 Council meeting.
Mayor Marley recognized Boy Scout Troop 144. Schumpert said a
notice of resignation to accept retirement had been received from
J. B. Howle, Public Works Director, effective May 17, 1996; Mike
Shaw will be acting Public Works Director until a replacement is
selected. Dutcher said Grand View Park is a beautiful addition to
the City. Open house on May 13 at 5:30 p.m.
