LAWTON CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 9, 1996 - 6:00 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Marley. Notice of meeting and
agenda were posted on the City Hall bulletin board as required by law.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
1. Museum roof, repairs and transition - Ford Roofing to repair roof free of
charge;
staff to advertise for RFP for someone to tell us the best way to deal with the asbestos;
start process to obtain air quality monitoring.
2. Contract amendment with Purdum re: second mortgage approved.
3. Contract amendment with Carrier re: second mortgage approved.
BUSINESS ITEMS:
4. Ord. 96-16 rezoning 2119 W Gore Blvd. to R-3.
5. Damage claim of Kenneth Plyant denied.
6. Table action on proposals for architects for renovation of Dunbar Elementary
School and suggest United Social Action use their funds to request ASCOG or a private
architect to prepare plans.
7. Denied item to authorize staff to request proposals for Fleet Maintenance.
8. Ord. 96-17 re: expenditures for activities and programs for employees.
9. Ord. 96-18 restructure membership on Mayor's Commission on Status of Women
(reduction of at-large positions).
10. Ord. 96-19 recreating City's CIP Advisory Committee and repealing Resolution
85-3 (reduction of at-large positions).
11. Res. 96-26 authorizing yield signs on Roosevelt at 19th Street and direct
police to
monitor speeding traffic.
12. Tabled resolution authorizing yield sign on "E" Avenue at 14th
St. to the next
meeting; are there signs there now?
13. Authorized hiring or contracting for two inspectors and one part-time clerk
for
QA/QC for WWTP construction project to be funded from 1995 CIP.
14. Award contract for radios and antenna as recommended.

Professional Service Acct. at Municipal Court.

maintenance.

REPORTS: Schumpert reported there will be a special Council meeting Friday at 9 a.m.
at the Chamber of Commerce regarding co-composting, and a trip to the landfill.
