LAWTON CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 22, 1995 - 6:00 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Marley.
Notice of meeting and agenda were posted on the City Hall
bulletin board as required by law.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION: Ali Peyravy said a fire hydrant was
needed at 2601 Ft. Sill Blvd. and for property along Ft. Sill
Blvd. He thought it would be available since it is in the center
of the City and that the City should provide facilities. He asked
that the City look into the matter.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS ITEMS:
1. Lengthy public hearing held; Ord. 95-34 adopted on
swimming, boating and water skiing.
2. CDBG Project list amendment, continued public hearing:
Proposed project list approved.
ADDENDUM: Public hearing held regarding Public Schools request
regarding exchange of properties: Motion that the Mayor work with
the Superintendent of Schools to have subcommittee to begin
working on agenda for the success of building a junior high
school north of Shoemaker Center and ask the City Attorney to
answer if this can be done legally.
BUSINESS ITEMS:
3. Ord. 95-35 on windshields, window tinting and child
passenger restraint system.
4. Damage claims denied: Renate and Linwood Powe; and Oscar E.
and Christine Tice.
5. Res. 95-103 repealing Res. 95-28 for condemnation of 310
and 310 1/2 NW Bell.
6. Council committee on Charter amendments: failed.
7. Install park lighting on all of jogging trail in Elmer
Thomas Park.
8. Briefing on fire protection at Cameron University.
9. Letter to Lawton Public Schools regarding traffic problems
associated with construction of new public schools approved.

10. Damage claim of Kyong Teeter - Res. 95-104 - $700.
11. Worker's comp. claim of Juan Ayala - Res. 95-105 -
$14,522.50.
12. Agreement with GPIF for Med Trans Program.
13. Joe English - Outside water sales agreement.
14. Cooperative Program and Memorandum Agreement between
Oklahoma Water Resources Board, U. S. Geological Survey and City.
15. Revocable permit to Hudson Oil c/o NESCO Environmental for
three wells at and near 1217 NW Oak Avenue.
16. Res. 95-106 declaring Sept. 2 and 3 as "Free Hunting
Days."
17. Res. 95-107 declaring September 16 "Free Fishing" for City
employees and family members at Lake Ellsworth.
